Our travels this year take us to the Edges of Europe, to meet composers who were inspired by central Europeans like Bach and Beethoven, but who found their own unique voices. Among the musical works of Ireland, Norway, Russia and Spain, I have found intriguing pieces for students at all levels. At our fall musicale December 5, we will put together a musical map of Europe from east to west and north to south, and share the discoveries we've made. Now is the time to visit iTunes, YouTube, Pandora, or your own CD shelves and become familiar with the music of at least one of these four countries.
